A Bit About Us
Food Recovery Network is a National Nonprofit Organization that began back in 2011 at the University of Maryland. Since then, chapters have been established in 48 out of the 50 states!
Here at SDSU our chapter has been a recognized student-run organization since 2016.
Our vision:
To reduce food waste in the San Diego area.
Our mission:
Prevent food waste by intervening in the final step of the food supply chain.
Our goal:
Build bridges between food donors and food distributors so that food can be recycled and given to those in need.
Fighting Waste, Feeding People
Our organization relies on volunteers to help pick up food from our donors,
then drive the food to our partner organizations.
